Simon Beddoe is a trumpet/flugel horn player, composer and teacher based in South London. He studied jazz at the Leeds College of Music and graduated in 2003. Simon now lectures and coordinates the event management module at the Leeds College of Music.
Simon has worked with many critically acclaimed groups and artists. He has toured professionally with various ensembles throughout the world and has played all the major UK festivals and venues.
Simon, or ‘Bobby’ as many call him, has received international acclaim for his work with groundbreaking electronica group Submotion Orchestra for whom he composes and plays brass. Submotion Orchestra have recently celebrated 10 years of making music having recorded 3 EP’s and 6 albums for various record labels including Ninja Tune and Circus Records.
Simon promotes a regular live music event across London called ‘Submotion Presents’. This night features some of the bands favorite artists at various venues, including Ghost Notes and featuring artists like Matt Bourne.
Simon shares a studio in dynamic studio complex, GBL studios where he records session work and writes for various clients including EMI and Loopmasters.
Simon has worked on a number of theatre productions most notably ‘Cat on a hot tin roof’ at the West Yorkshire Playhouse directed by Sarah Esdaile. He has also composed and directed/produced for Leeds Transform Festival.
